Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Federal Secretary Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has been directing the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) for starting a campaign to recover its dues. The Federal secretary Ministry of Information Technologyy gave this direction in his visit to the Headquarters of National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) in a press release on Friday.
The managing director of the National Telecommunication Corporation directed by the Federal Secretary,Retired Brigadier Viqar Rashid Khan said that the NTC must extend its outreach throughout the country and furthermore, it should particularly focus on the under developed areas of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh. Earlier, he had briefed the Federal Secretary regarding the working of the NTC as well as its achievements in the last five years. In addition to this, the Federal Secretary was apprised regarding the projects of the NTC. The MD said that the NTC was the first public sector of telecom operator that established the cloud based Tier-III National Data Center.
The federal secretary of Information Technology appreciated the initiatives that were taken by NTC for the provision of secure and also reliable data services to the federal government as well as other public sector organizations. The Federal Secretary further went on to say that he was glad to know that the NTC was managing its expenses itself and in addition to that generating revenue too. He also said that the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication would extend their full support for trying to resolve all the issues of NTC. He also visited the National Data Centre at NTC and appreciated their performance.
