Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the event of his father’s 75th birth anniversary said that the Revolution in Information Technology was one of many “incredible accomplishments” of the former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
This week Congress will hold memorial events across the nation to mark the birthday of Mr. Gandhi, the former prime minister, tweeted. He also said he will tweet one of Rajiv Gandhi’s “amazing accomplishments” to “honour” his dad every day this week.
He said that they would be celebrating his dad this week, the 75th anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi Ji’s birth with memorial activities throughout India. To honour him, he would draw attention to one of his many amazing accomplishments every day this week. He mentioned the Revolution in Information Technology by sharing a 55-second clip.
The seeds of revolution in the country’s IT sector were planted in 1985 under the management of Congressman Rajiv Gandhi according to the video highlights. The clip further emphasizes that Rajiv Gandhi, India’s youngest prime minister assured India was ready for the future.
Rajiv Gandhi stayed with the belief that India may have missed the Industrial Revolution but the computer revolution cannot be missed.
Rajiv Gandhi became the country’s youngest prime minister when, after his mother’s 1984 assassination, he was sworn in at the age of 40 as India’s sixth prime minister. When he was assassinated in May 1991 in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, he was busy campaigning for Congress for the national elections as the president of the party. The anniversary of his death is also noted as the day of anti-terrorism.
